The Black Pearl
Our offshore boat is 2006 31 CONTENDER powered by twin 2006 275 Mercury Verado 4 Strokes. The boat is 32’6” in overall length with a beam of 9’4”. This is an awesome machine for catching Spanish Mackerel in the inlet mouths or tugging on Wahoo, Mahi and Tuna in the Gulf stream. The mid range fish such as Kings, Barracuda, Amberjacks, Cobia and all the bottom feeders better lookout!! The Pearl will top out around 60mph in slick water and cruises around 35. Ride less and fish longer without inhaling diesel fumes!! It has a fully electric head for those long offshore days, and a T-Top enclosure with wing outs for shade and those wet, windy or cool days. The electronics package is through the GPS Store here at Ocean Isle and is nothing less than first class. We have a Garmin 3006 color GPS with satellite weather overlay, Furuno 582L color sounder, Furuno Nav Net radar/gps combo, two Icom VHF’s with distress signaling capabilities, Epirb, Simrad autopilot, and a Polyplanar satellite radio/cd player combo. It sports 3 livewells to keep those baits frisky all day when needed. The raised coffin box will store all your “stuff” on our fishing trip. The tackle includes Rupp Outriggers, Cannon Downriggers, Penn International, Shimano, and Diawa rods and reels. We specialize in light tackle live bait fishing whenever possible on the mid range trips. We furnish all tackle, bait and ice plus clean and package your catch at the end of the day. So come on and catch a ride!!
Trippin
Trippin is a Nautic Star 2200 Bay boat powered by a 2006 225 Mercury Optimax PRO XS. It has proven itself to be one great backwater platform. It has 2 livewells to keep the bait and/or catch alive. The boat is very stable and easy to walk around on while sight casting to Spanish and Blues or drifting for Flounder. It can ease up in those shallow creeks to try for Reds and Speckled Trout or venture out the inlets to the close-in wrecks or ledges in search of Spadefish and even an occasional Cobia. It has a Garmin GPS/Sounder combo, Icom VHF with distress signaling capabilities, and a stereo/CD player. We have all the tackle and rods you’ll need. This boat was featured in the December issue of NC Boating Lifestyles this past season while taking the author on a productive backwater trip. We even take this boat in the shallow creeks to hand line for blue crabs. Customize your trip to whatever works for you!
